PONOKA -- Audra Denny is running for a spot on Ponoka Town Council.
Denny's campaign platform centres around mindful spending, good governance, and safe communities. Speaking with 89.7 The One, she says she would bring a people-focused approach to Ponoka Council if elected on October 20th.
"I'm community centred, I volunteer, I organize things -- I'm a caregiver here in Ponoka as well," said Denny. "My style is very collaborative. I hope that I always listen first and then bring people together, and then really get those things done."
Denny adds that much of her focus is also on community inclusion. She says this means fostering a place where all residents feel safe, included, and a sense of pride for their community. Denny talked about what her priorities would be if elected to Ponoka Council.
"To support coordinated safety initiatives -- I know there's a little bit of that going on -- but I'd like to expand on that," said Denny. "Creating partnerships to promote vulnerable residents access to housing, transit, and care, and all of those wraparound supports."
Audra Denny is one of ten candidates running for Council in the Town of Ponoka.
