Bee Yard Day is a highly hands-on and practical learning experience held in Stony Plain, Alberta from 10:00am to 3:00pm (the exact location address will be sent via email to registered participants prior to the session date). This immersive session is designed to build confidence, provide real time guidance, and help you become more successful with your own hives through direct, in yard experience rather than classroom instruction.
Each session focuses on essential spring and summer management topics while also allowing time to address individual hive challenges and questions. Guaranteed topics include: -Preparing for swarming -Making and managing splits -Strengthening weak hives -Requeening and adding queens to splits -Locating and identifying your queen
Note: Participants must bring their own beekeeping gear, including a bee protection suit, veil, gloves, and any other personal protective equipment they normally use.
