LEDUC -- Leduc RCMP have provided new details on a shooting incident last week in the Diamond Estates neighbourhood.
According to police, the incident occurred outside a local residence in the early hours of Thursday, August 7th. Leduc RCMP Constable Lindsay McNab says no one was hurt in the incident, which they believe to be another targeted shooting attempt.
"At approximately 2:15 a.m., a dark-coloured sedan entered the area and remained for roughly twenty minutes," said Cst. McNab. "At around 2:30 a.m., the suspect vehicle fired eighteen shots towards a residence before fleeing the scene at approximately 2:35 a.m."
The August 7th incident was the third shooting incident of the week in the City of Leduc, after a pair of earlier incidents on the mornings of Monday, August 4th and Tuesday, August 5th. In those shootings, a residence was targeted in Leduc's Blackstone neighbourhood. Constable McNab confirmed to the One that at this time, police believe there is no connection between the incidents in Blackstone and Diamond Estates.
Police ask anyone with information on these incidents to contact Leduc RCMP at 780-980-7267.
